Recreation Track in FRIM

This Rover Track, a hard surface broad vehicular track of just over 2 kilometers long is very popular among residents of the hinterland.

Every morning at the break of dawn and just before dust, the regulars would be pacing up and down this track.

The Rover Trail  is broad and clear enough to allow the detection of any creepy crawlies of the forest that decide to share this path with you. That's a comforting thoughts for most city folks. The track is an internal road of the Forestry Headquarters and hence fear of being waylaid in the wilderness is dispelled.

Somewhere along the Rover Trail, you will come across another very well maintained branch off. This is the dedicated trail to the Canopy Walk way. The uphill track seen in this picture is the trail head for the 2nd segment of the trail.

You can either follow the Rover Trail to reach this point or alternatively, follow the Canopy Trail from its starting point. The trail head for the 1st segment starts at the  jungle edge opposite the car park of the waterfall.

The end of the 1st segment of the Canopy Walkway Trail ends at this shed along the Rover Trail. By the way this 1st segment is winding and narrow  - not a popular choice.

Most regular morning walkers have their preferences. Most of them confine their activities within the main track and  avoid the Canopy Trail - exception health freaks.

The picture shows a sample of the trail in Segment 2. Very well maintained and cleaned. It has a fair matrix of steep climbs and level portions. Nearing the end of this trail, almost reaching the highest point, there will be rest benches as well.

Watch these numbered poles along the trail. They are not distance markers, but are prompters for some eco-sights.

Happy trekking - this portion of hill climb is the playground for the health freaks.
