Facilities that helps you enjoy your walk in Gasing

The usual place for gathering, a tiny playground in Jalan Chantek  - Road 5/4  of Petaling Jaya

This picture was taken at 6.45 am.  Might be unearthly hours for many, the crowd is waiting for the daybreak.  In the meantime, warming up can be done at the playground or take a stroll along the deserted roads.

A route map etched on stainless steel, showing the layout of the 4 official tracks

The main entrance into the woods. There are 3 officials points, but there is also a 4th created by regulars.

The route are well marked at each critical junction. The routes are not misleading, all of them lead out of this narrow ridge.

Wooden planks are used to create permanent steps  of  stairways on steep slopes.

There are a few [3] platforms and 1 bird watch or tower.

At the appropriate point, sheds come in handy at times of sudden showers.

Again, direction signs are newly installed. A bench!, these are located at the top of each slope.

Wooden bridges are installed in places where the tracks pas over streams.

Finally there is this marvel of a wire rope suspension bridge. It is across a ravine of 60 feet deep.

Here is a demarcation chain link fencing that separates Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. Along it, a paved path to join up to the next track.

After a good walk - a bout of daily fellowship! Important for retirees.
