The southern part of Peninsula Malaysia is rather flat. In fact it is not exactly "flat" as a sheet of paper. The terrain here is rather unique. Though in totality, you may consider this huge spread of land, a plain. But it is flat land with unending "folds". Just like a blanket of giant "waves". That is the characteristic of the terrain synonymous with Johore Then, in this large piece of "flat" a stand alone cluster of hills sprouted out. the tallest of the peak, Muntahak only 634 meters tall. A second peak to the east, Panti - 481 meters. Panti is very well-known to Singaporean as a haven for forest wild birds. In fact, one of the best rivaling the famed Frasers Hills for Birds. This cluster of hills is responsible for trapping the moistures flowing in the south of Malaysia. While the two hills are not tall, they did a marvelous job in retaining enough waters for the few small rivers. One of which is the one flowing through Kota Tinggi Town. The Kota Tinggi Park is indeed a well placed. In this area of no hills seen for miles. Right at the foot of this one lone clusters, a small waterfall was conveniently created. |
