The Mossy Forest
The Mossy Forest is a name given by most nature lovers to describe the person's mood while making his way through this  usual forest environment.

Here, a tract of dense dangling vegetation exist at the apex of the ridge, wide enough for a walkway to be created by trekkers. Then along this fairly lengthy Ridge, clouds drift by washed the vegetations from one slope to roll down the next. Many are heavily laden clouds that kept the jungle moist all the time.

Though the ground is soggy most of the year, roots of supporting trees get their moisture. Those other aerial vegetation evenly posted, kept basked by the  continuously passing clouds.

This is typical scene. Fair size tree prop up the forest scene and structure, the branches stretching out, overshadowing the steep slopes.

The mosses and liverworts using their surfaces and branches, to gain over even more exposed surfaces.

The top of the ridge is seldom a flat ground but rather the apex of a mountain range.

Here, if you watch carefully, making the way through is like walking over a heap of compacted dead leaves

The breadth of the navigable way seldom exceed 2 meters wide, more like a meter broad most of the time.

The ground though firm, gives a spongy feeling.

This is because the surface was built up by layers of dead leaves, stems and dried mosses.

Dark brown in color and earth is rare sight.

The narrow walking path along the back bone of whole ridge is undulating every meter.

Walking under the canopy all the time, roots structures weave across the floor, twines, roots and creepers dropping from above form networks. So often,  cordoned off the edges of the steep slope.

Receptacle or suspended pockets within this network ended up as a shallow trash dump to hold new litters that retains water. Others settled down on floor level. Not surprising that unwearied passer by will sink their feet into half a knee deep of brown peat.
