A Walk through the Mossy Forest

Cameron Highlands is plateau that extends from the town of Ringlet to the Blue Valley.

Towering both side of this broad valley, are summits and ridges. These raised highlands cool and very moist are conducive for this mossy vegetation to thrive.

To really appreciate the beauty of such ecology, you need to be a nature lover. To be familiar with what is seen and also to spend time is slowly uncovering them.

Most visitors are keen to having seen the sight for themselves, after having heard of its mysticism and praises of its extreme beauty.

Of all those known, this is at Camerons is a very good example and easily accessible. The first part of the trail for 200 meters is tramped beyond recognition. It turns out to be blessing as most curious visitors were caught in the soggy ground. However their mere presence has altered the climate in that stretch and the forest is dying.

While every plants, growth and protrusions appear in all shades of green.

It is challenging to get a good  photograph that does justice to its actual beauty.

First time visitors will be so amazed at the scene they see. Of late the short stretch near the public road is damaged beyond recognitions.

You need to be a nature lover to appreciate and enjoy the surroundings provided by this forest. In the last trip on October 9th, it is sad to see that large pitcher were torn to inspect its contents. Patches of moss were stripped from the forest wall to see its thickness.

For those who knows the way, it is best not to bring large crowds there to accelerate the  damage to the vegetations.

For new visitors, the "Fantastic" scenes you heard of at Irau, may be disappointing after seeing the damage.

For that reason, do not blame those who are reluctant to reveal it actual location

For those who are serious nature lovers, such trip however will not rewarding. The scenes do not appeal to those looking forward to a leisure sight seeing trip. It will involve fairly strenuous hiking into undulating mountain trails.

There are many of such places.

A recent trip to the small "mossy" segment at the Quartz Ridge revealed the same fate. Those "cute" mosses laid out like carpets, were dislodged in chucks and thrown away. The hikers liked a closer look at these amazing work of nature
