This legendary lake located some 80
kilometers from the major town of Kuantan, is sandwiched between a low
hill and the massive Pahang River.
Occupying a flat lowland of 1200 hectares,
the watery area comes in the shape of 12 lakes interlinked like a circle.
Its remoteness, fuelled by a legend,
visitors to this serene locality can sense an eerie feeling particularly at
dusk. Perhaps it could be the dark colored water that continue to hide unknown
secret that every visitor would like to know more. This place makes a perfect trip or day excursion
for visitor landed in Kuantan. At certain time of the year, the entire
lake will be coated with field of pink colored Lotus flower interspersed
with some white species.
Do not expect to see breath taking scenery
from this wilderness. Nor this vast expenses of water being a haven for outdoor
fisherman. There is none, as the lake is situated in a flat land and over the years,
due to lack of control, livestock of fishes in the lake was slowly
depleted.
Having said that, the lake district is
indeed a beautiful place to spend some quiet time together with nature. there
